Remanufactured Hybrid Safety Plug

All hybrid vehicles are equipped with a safety disconnect switch, commonly known as a hybrid safety plug. These safety plugs are used to cut off high voltage from the rest of the system beyond the battery pack when the vehicle is being serviced. Often, the copper contacts of the plug will corrode, creating a faulty electrical connection that could cause a safety hazard. CARDONEs direct-fit hybrid safety plugs are carefully tested and inspected to match O.E. performance.

All critical areas of the plug are rigorously cleaned to remove corrosion.

If the unit is equipped with a plug-latching mechanism, 100% testing is completed to ensure proper functionality.

The internal fuse of each plug is subjected to a conductive current draw test to guarantee peak performance.

The plug’s casing and locking points are thoroughly inspected for wear and defects prior to acceptance.
